چکیده

UNLABELLED Skyline is a Windows client application for targeted proteomics method creation and quantitative data analysis. The Skyline document model contains extensive mass spectrometry data from targeted proteomics experiments performed using selected reaction monitoring, parallel reaction monitoring and data-independent and data-dependent acquisition methods. Researchers have developed software tools that perform statistical analysis of the experimental data contained within Skyline documents. The new external tools framework allows researchers to integrate their tools into Skyline without modifying the Skyline codebase. Installed tools provide point-and-click access to downstream statistical analysis of data processed in Skyline. The framework also specifies a uniform interface to format tools for installation into Skyline. Tool developers can now easily share their tools with proteomics researchers using Skyline. AVAILABILITY AND IMPLEMENTATION Skyline is available as a single-click self-updating web installation at http://skyline.maccosslab.org. This Web site also provides access to installable external tools and documentation. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

Randomized Multi-pass Streaming Skyline Algorithms

We consider external algorithms for skyline computation without pre-processing. Our goal is to develop an algorithm with a good worst case guarantee while performing well on average. Due to the nature of disks, it is desirable that such algorithms access the input as a stream (even if in multiple passes). Using the tools of randomness, proved to be useful in many applications, we present an eff...

Skyline Ordering: A Flexible Framework for Efficient Resolution of Size Constraints on Skyline Queries

Given a set of multi-dimensional points, a skyline query returns the interesting points that are not dominated by other points. It has been observed that the actual cardinality (s) of a skyline query result may differ substantially from the desired result cardinality (k), which has prompted studies on how to reduce s for the case where k < s. This paper goes further by addressing the general ca...

Discovering Relative Importance of Skyline Attributes

Querying databases with preferences is an important research problem. Among various approaches to querying with preferences, the skyline framework is one of the most popular. A well known deficiency of that framework is that all attributes are of the same importance in skyline preference relations. Consequently, the size of the results of skyline queries may grow exponentially with the number o...

SkySuite: A Framework of Skyline-Join Operators for Static and Stream Environments

Efficient processing of skyline queries has been an area of growing interest over both static and stream environments. Most existing static and streaming techniques assume that the skyline query is applied to a single data source. Unfortunately, this is not true in many applications in which, due to the complexity of the schema, the skyline query may involve attributes belonging to multiple dat...
